El Gato Dos

The El Gato Dos is a 1984 36′ Hatteras Express. She was repowered in 2002 with twin John Deere diesel engines that bring her to a 14 knot cruise and 18 knot top speed. In the winter of 2018/19, we added a complete Furuno electronics package, including, the DFF-3D Multi Beam Sonar, as well as Furuno DRS4D-NXT Radar with “bird” mode to locate active groups of feeding birds. We can load up to 4 scoops of live bait in our dual sided bait tank, which is located centrally in the cockpit. The El Gato has a full tuna tower which aids in helping us locate kelp paddies and schools of fish, such as yellowtail and tuna while fishing offshore. We also use a military grade pair of Fujinon Stabiscope Gyro-scopic binoculars to spot bird life and fish. For 2019, we partnered with Accurate Fishing reels and use their Tern 500 star drag reel and the Accurate Valiant rods, which passengers can use at no extra cost during any of our trips.
For seating, we have a completely one of a kind custom seating arrangement designed to provide seating for up to 6 guests. We have two aft facing “mezzanine” style seats so passengers can keep an eye on the cockpit during the trip. Inside the cabin, there is a stainless steel refrigerator/ freezer as well as a microwave and toaster oven. A full size head/bathroom lies on the port side of the boat.
